My sources of inspiration!!

Dec 5th, 2012 by Asif Patel

Dr.Paul Farmer

I met Dr.Farmer once and since then I always want to meet him often. I would like to be part of his “partners in health”troops. I came to know of his name from Professor Levitt, and the same semester I could meet him in the conference.

Dr.Emma Tsui

Dr.Tsui is the inspiring force  why I have become so interested in research.  Her teaching method is unique;  She knows how to keep students engaged in classroom activities!! My best Professor!!!

  • Completely dedicated and focused on research,
  • passionate of teaching
  • true ethnographer
  • Best at Qualitative studies!

Dr.Lorna Thorpe:

I think I love epidemiology, may be because of its strong association with global health and its great role in defining the association and causation of various diseases. I met Dr.Thorpe in 2010, and since then I had desire to work with her.On the 17th December, I attended her lecture at NYCDOH, and it rekindeled my desire. When it comes to epidemiology, Dr.Thorpe is my inspiring model. Her interview in light of global health invigorates my interest in epidemiology.

Dr.Sandro Galea

I went through his publications recently. Awesome, the moment I went through his profile, I incorporated him in my inspiring lists

Dr.O.P.Kapoor

In 90s, Amazing clinician. I hardly missed any of his medicine class in Bombay Hospital. How to talk to patients, I have doubt any other physician on the earth could make the friendly communication with patient the way Dr.kapoor does. At the age of around 90, the Mr.and Mrs kapoor enjoy swimming. Fitness freaky.  Big name in medicine , and inspiring model for many doctors,

Dr.Anke Ehrhardt

The brain behind such big center. I would say this center is Mecca for HIV research. Small things can make a big difference. I once asked Dr.Ehrhardt about the foundation of HIV and she was very noble in reply saying that it was all team work. Of course, but journey starts from a single mind. I am sure Dr.Anke Erhardt, you are such a person from whom we can definitely take a inspiring leaf.

Dr.Wafaa Sadr

Synonymous to ICAP. sometime I forget Dr.Wafaa’s name and ICAP comes on my tongue. Dr.Wafaa is making a difference. Although MD doctor, she is treating patients on population level. Salute Dr.Wafaa!
